QawaDoz

Terms of Use

Last updated 15 October 2026

These terms cover the QawaDoz app and website. Using either means you accept them. They are short on purpose.

What QawaDoz is

A guide to cafés in Erbil: listings and menus, ratings and reviews, a café passport, events, jobs, and a way to ask a café for a table. We are not the café. We do not take payment, we do not serve you, and a booking, an event place or a job application sent here is a request the café can accept or decline.

Accounts

  • You need an account to save a café, write a review, check in, sign up for an event, apply for a job or book a table. Browsing needs none.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to have an account.
  • Give accurate details and keep your password to yourself. What happens under your account is your responsibility.
  • One account per person. Accounts made to write fake reviews are removed.
  • You can delete your account at any time, from Profile in the app.

No tolerance for abuse

QawaDoz is for everyone. Anything you write, upload or show here — a review, a photo, your name or profile photo — must not be abusive, hateful, threatening, sexual, violent, harassing, false or unlawful, and must not share anyone’s personal information. Do not use the app to follow, contact or meet anyone who has not asked for it.

We do not tolerate any of this. You can report a review, or a person in Who’s here, from the app — reporting also hides them from you straight away. We review every report, normally within 24 hours, remove what breaks these rules and ban the accounts behind it.

Who’s here

“I’m here” only works from the café itself. Your first name is shown only if you turn on Show me at cafés, and only to people who are signed in. You can hide anyone, and once you do, neither of you sees the other.

Reviews

Reviews are published straight away, without waiting for approval. That trust comes with rules: write about a café you actually visited, do not post anything abusive, false, unlawful, or anyone’s personal information, and do not review a café you own or compete with. We remove reviews that break these rules and may close the account behind them.

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it you allow us to display it in the app and on the website.

Events and jobs

Events and jobs are posted by cafés. Signing up for an event or applying for a job sends your name, phone number and what you write to that café, and the café decides. We pass the message along and are not part of any arrangement you make with the café.

Bookings

A booking is a request sent to the café. It is confirmed only when the café confirms it. Turning up, arriving on time and cancelling if your plans change are between you and the café — we pass the message along and nothing more. We are not responsible for a café that loses a booking, closes early, or turns you away.

Café information

Opening hours, prices, phone numbers and amenities come from OpenStreetMap and from café owners, and can be out of date or wrong. Ring ahead if it matters. Tell us when something is wrong and we will correct it.

Café owners

An owner given access to a café listing may edit only their own café, must keep its details truthful, and must answer booking requests within a reasonable time. Access can be withdrawn if a listing is used to mislead.

What we do not promise

The app is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it is always available, always correct, or free of faults. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from using it — including a wasted journey to a café that turned out to be closed.

Ending it

You can stop using QawaDoz at any time and delete your account. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and will say why unless doing so would be unlawful.

Changes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, the app will tell you before it takes effect. The date at the top shows the current version.
